Being a famous star 60 years ago was something that one could just dream of. Not everyone could aspire to this, even if they were actually talented, mostly because of the lack of resources and knowledge. Not everyone could afford to move to Hollywood (the place were stars are born) to pursue their dreams of becoming a real singer or a desirable actress/actor, but the ones that did become famous, were actually what the word famous means. These people were wanted and loved, they were unforgettable.
Nowadays, thanks to social media and the way things are so normalized, anyone can become famous. Just make a small TikTok or Instagram video and if you are lucky the whole world will know you, and guess what, you quickly turn into a "celebrity"!
But what is this fame? What this fame that
lasts for so little... Sometimes a couple of weeks is all it takes for you to be
loved and forgotten. Not to mention that you can be famous from your couch,
there is no moving to other countries involved, no Visa to worry about, no cultural
shock.
This is the fame that we’ve created, yes it is
very convenient but it also discredits the big stars that worked so hard to get
to where they are now. Stop idolizing people for zero content and begin to
appreciate the creators of real art!
